I’m going to rip my eyelid off…

If it doesn’t stop twitching!!! It’s just the slightest muscle spasm in my eyelid, but it’s annoying as hell. I looked around online and I guess it just starts to happen and then in a few days or a week it goes away.

My boy’s mind and physical abilities have exploded in the last week. He’s got this toy walker thing and he went from not really knowing how to use it to being able to walk around with it, change direction, and stand up using it as well. He’s also started saying “uh-oh”. He already had been saying “Ma-ma” and once in a while “Da-da”. “Uh-oh” is such a change syllable-wise from “ma-ma” and “da-da” it’s pretty neat. He’s so incredible. Each day, I can’t wait to see what he’ll do next.

My fear of dying has begun to creep back into my head. Any amateur physiologists want to explain to me why I always get panicked over it in the shower? Its rise also seems to coincide with my wife’s dissatisfaction with me. Either it’s triggered by it, or my attitude when it surfaces causes her dissatisfaction. I don’t know.

I know I’ve been a bit lax on posting lately. I’ll try to be better, but is seems like I’m always busy with some shit.

Rollin'

Man I hate being busy at work. Makes it so I have less time to steal time… mmmm time theft.

So what’s been going on…

My hockey team this winter kicks ass. We’ve won both our games so far. We just dominate the other teams. We don’t have anyone who’s never played before. That’s a huge help. Some of the other teams have people who don’t know what offside is. My new stick is tits too. I love it. It handles so much better than my old wood one. We have a game tonight against the only team in the division we haven’t played yet. If we win this one easily, it’s going to be a win filled season.

I’m out of the American car game now for good. We got rid of our 2001 Saturn L200 and got ourselves a 2007 Hyundai Elantra SE. It’s really nice. I like it a lot. It’s a five-speed manual as well, so it’s a fun drive. It’s black like our Tucson, and has nice little extras like steering wheel controls, telescoping wheel, trip computer, 16 inch AL wheels. Nothing super fancy, but a good, safe, reliable, value.

Thanksgiving’s coming up here pretty soon. My parents and my wife’s mom and sister are coming down. I’ve got my menu all planned out. (If I had a chance to redo my carrier I’d have either been a chef or a plumber). On Wed my Dad and I are going to see Casino Royal, the new Bond movie. I’ve seen all of the current Bond movies in the theatre so I have to go to this one.

And I’ve put together a plan to get rid of all my fucking credit card debt. The way I figure, with this new plan I should have it all paid off by March of 2008. Dirty credit card companies with their extension of $6500 of credit to a college student… I guess I just don’t have the willpower to not buy shit I can’t afford. I should say I didn’t have the willpower when I was 20 years old. 5 years and a child have given me some perspective.

Or something along those lines

Shameless Begging

From my wife's blog:

Okay, we had Carter's portraits taken and the photographer runs a contest.

If Carter wins, we get a free $75 photo collage. So (here comes the begging) go vote for Carter. Even if you don't think he's the cutest, vote for him because you love me. I have 20 some people on my flist and I REALLY want that phot collage.

Here's the contest link with Carter's picture (he's #17):

Sweet Face #17 is my boy!

You can vote by either sending an email to:info@kvimagery.com

Or sending in your vote on her contact page, which is here:

Contact Page

PLEASE! I promise to update with more pictures of him if you all do it!!!

I am Jack’s civic duty

I went and voted this morning. I shuffled into a small dirty room of the local library and waited 15 min before I actually got to vote. This year Illinois is using electronic voting machines. I can’t recall the brand that these were, but they did print out a verification paper prior to your official submission to confirm whom you had voted for. I’ve heard stories about electronic machines that don’t provide some sort of paper trail, and that’s bullshit. You’ve got to have something you can trace back that doesn’t live in the memory of a computer.

I pretty much voted down the line Democrat. I didn’t however vote for Blagojevich for governor. I can’t in good conscience vote for a man doesn’t agree that 18 year olds should be allowed to be tattooed, yet did pass legislation to make tattoo parlors meet certain health standards so more people can donate blood (pushed by lobbying from blood donor organizations). I also didn’t vote for Jesse White for secretary of state, because I think it’s creepy how his face and name are plastered on all of Illinois DMV items.

I guess we’ll find out late tonight how the House and Senate have fared. It’s all about voter turnout now.
